August 27-29, 2021
Savannah, GA – Historic Grayson Stadium
Atlanta, GA – Truist Park
Saturday: Macon Bacon @ Savannah Bananas
Sunday: San Francisco Giants @ Atlanta Braves
Jump aboard this all guys weekend road trip! Whether you’re a father/son combo, a grandfather making it three generations, brothers, neighbors, college friends or coming by yourself – all guys are welcome!
See below for the breakdown of the daily schedule. It’s been created so you don’t have to take time off work on Friday. On Saturday we will watch the world famous Savannah Bananas of the wood bat Coastal Plain League, a wood bat college league. Over the past five seasons the Bananas have become the MOST ENTERTAINING baseball team in the country. They SELL OUT 4,000 seats at The Historic Grayson Stadium every game! Tickets are all inclusive with all-you-can-eat food, players often wear kilts or cowboy hats for the entire game, the owner walks around in his yellow tuxedo, be prepared for choreographed dances from the team and SO MUCH MORE. Click here to watch the Bananas Story, click here to visit their website or click here to read this story. Their owner Jesse Cole wrote a book, Find Your Yellow Tux. It will also be their final Saturday game of the season so it’s fireworks night!
On Sunday we will drive north to Atlanta to watch the Braves take on the Giants. If the youngsters among us are up for it, every Sunday Braves game is Kids Run The Bases for free!
We will cover a lot of miles over the weekend, but rest assured we will stop plenty for food and potty breaks. Simply A Fan took a similar weekend trip in June 2018 where we hit the Louisville Slugger Museum and a Reds game on Friday, then a Cubs game at Wrigley on Saturday, before driving home on Sunday. It was so much fun!
